How our site is accessible

Rails Interactive makes every effort to make our content accessible to all users. More specifically, Web accessibility means that people with disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with the Web, and that they can contribute to the Web. Web accessibility also benefits others, including older people with changing abilities due to aging. Web accessibility encompasses all disabilities that affect access to the Web, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.

Rails Interactive incorporates the following development tools in order to achieve accessibility for all users.

  • Valid XHTML
  • Valid CSS for presentation and layout
  • Form Element Labels
  • Abbreviation and Acronym tags
  • Site Map
  • Links with title tags
  • Alt tags on In-line images
  • Screen reader testing

We strongly encourage clients and developers to research web standards and accessibility. Please visit knowbility for further information on accessibility and standards based design.
